This is a true story.

So this guy walks into a bar and says, "I want a blog."

The bartender says, "No politics allowed and no blogging about blogging and or how to make money blogging."

And the guy says, "What's left then?"

And the bartender says, "Anime or technology."

So the guy starts a blog about Anime but it fails horribly because he thought it had something to do with anemones and was posting for seven weeks about filter feeding animals of the order Actiniaria...his readership did not grow.

He goes back to the bartender and says, "Allright I'll write about technology what should I focus on?"

And the bartender says, "Well everyone seems to like those gadget blogs, all the new gizmos and stuff."

"So I should do that then."

"No"

"eh?"

"Write about all sorta stuff, keep 'em off base that's what I always say." Said the bartender, spitting in a cup to clean it.

"You do?"

"Oh yes all the time...well some of the time, ok never, but that's besides the point..." he trails off and doesn't finish his thinking.

"...so, technology then, and keep em off balance...that it?"

"Yup."

And that's how I decided what to write about for techRivet.

(Ok, there wasn't really a bartender)
